Bright Star Elementary School Receives $10,000 Donation from Burlington Stores
Funds will Directly Benefit Bright Star Teachers and Students
Burlington Stores, Inc., through its partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org, donated $10,000 to Bright Star Elementary School in celebration of its new Douglasville store. Douglasville Burlington Store Manager Monique Alexander presented the check to Bright Star Principal Heather Stewart during a surprise assembly Monday morning at the school. A representative from AdoptAClassroom.org contacted school administrators and helped to secure the donation for Bright Star Elementary, which will provide $313 in new supplies for each teacher’s classroom. According to Principal Stewart, the teachers will use the funds on a number of new classroom items like science equipment, new computer technology, art supplies and other supplies designed to enrich learning. “On behalf of Douglas County Schools and Bright Star Elementary, I would like to thank Burlington and AdoptAClassroom.org for adopting our entire school,” said Heather Stewart. “Our teachers look forward to using the funds to enhance learning in our school and in their classrooms. We are thankful for the support we received from Burlington and AdoptAClassroom.org.
