Assistant Principal

Dear Staff, Parents, and Students of Burnett Elementary School,

Welcome to another FANTABULOUS year at the BEST elementary school EVER! As your new assistant principal, it is my sincere pleasure and honor to work tirelessly with Dr. Thompson in making this a successful school year and to support the mission and vision of our school.

As a child, I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, and I’m the eldest of two children. Interestingly, I was my little brother’s 5th grade reading and social studies teacher…imagine that! My mother was my number one advocate and she introduced me to the notion of diligence and determination very early. As a result, I graduated from The State University of West Georgia with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, earned a Master’s degree in Education from Central Michigan University, and obtained a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership and Supervision from Capella University.

I began my career in education sixteen years ago with the Atlanta Public Schools System, where I taught grades third, fourth, and fifth. Additionally, I was a teacher-leader within Fulton County Schools, where I taught grades first through fifth for 9 years and I was an Administrative Assistant for one year.  Prior to coming to Burnett, I was the Assistant Principal at Beulah Elementary School, where I enjoyed three amazing years.

Along with Dr. Thompson, and the best staff, I will work diligently to continue the norm of providing a nurturing and safe environment for all students. Using data to inform instruction, and ensure exciting, challenging, and enriching opportunities for all stakeholders, we will impact and transform teaching and learning.

I just know this will be an amazing year as we support the academic, social, and emotional growth of all TIGER CUBS!
